Epic Games is shaking up the rhythm of Fortnite once again with the launch of Festival Season 5. Trading heavy metal for Latin vibes, the new season introduces Colombian pop sensation Karol G as its headliner, marking a significant departure from previous seasons.
Karol G Takes Center Stage
Following the footsteps of Metallica, Karol G will be the face of Festival Season 5, gracing players with her presence through multiple in-game offerings. Two distinct Karol G skins will be available for acquisition: one as part of the Season 5 Festival Pass and another in the item shop. To complement the star power, players can also get their hands on Karol G-themed instruments, jam tracks, emotes, and other cosmetic items.
The excitement doesn’t end there. A dedicated Karol G concert experience is scheduled for the second weekend of the season, promising an immersive musical journey. Completing the concert unlocks an exclusive Bichota Four-String Bass, adding a touch of Latin flair to players’ virtual arsenals.
More Than Just a Concert
While Karol G undoubtedly brings a fresh energy to Fortnite, Season 5 also delivers on highly anticipated player requests. The return of the restart song button is a major win for musicians struggling to nail their performances. This quality-of-life improvement addresses a long-standing frustration within the community.
For those overwhelmed by the growing collection of jam tracks, a much-needed organizational update has arrived. The ability to archive jam tracks and hide them from the emote wheel and main stage song picker is a game-changer. Players can now curate their musical experience with greater precision, decluttering their virtual stage and focusing on their favorite tunes.
A New Festival Pass and Shop Offerings
The Season 5 Festival Pass is now live, priced at 1800 V-Bucks. As with previous seasons, it offers both free and paid tracks. Completing the pass rewards players with a Karol G-themed mic stand, guitar, and four jam tracks, including hits like “Qlona” by Karol G, “My Oh My” by Ava Max, “The Nights” by Avicii, and “Take Over Control” by Afrojack and Eva Simons. Free pass rewards include three Epic Games jam tracks, an emote, an aura, and a stylish keytar.
The item shop is also getting into the Karol G spirit with the Bonita Jams bundle, featuring two jam tracks and two emotes. A separate Karol G bundle, launching on August 22, includes a different Karol G skin, a mic stand, back bling, wrap, and the “Provenza” jam track. These items will be available for purchase until the end of Season 5.
A New Era for Fortnite Festival
Festival Season 5 marks a significant evolution for Fortnite’s musical experience. By introducing Karol G as the headliner and addressing core player feedback, Epic Games has demonstrated a commitment to providing a more engaging and personalized musical journey.
Whether you’re a Karol G fan or simply looking for a fresh soundtrack to your Fortnite adventures, Season 5 has something to offer everyone. With its captivating blend of music, cosmetics, and quality-of-life improvements, Fortnite Festival Season 5 is poised to leave a lasting impression on players.
