Edinson Cavani is expected to make an immediate transfer decision and move to his new club as his return to La Liga approaches this summer.
Cavani initially arrived in Europe in 2007 with Palermo before joining Napoli in 2011. He spent three seasons with his club in Napoli and contributed to securing the victory in Coppa Italia in 2011-12. Cavani left Serie A in 2013 and joined Paris Saint-Germain.
The player joined United in 2020 soon after an impressive spell at Paris Saint-Germain and became the club’s all-time top scorer with 200 club goals for France.
As of now, the Uruguayan International is available as a free agent after being dismissed by Manchester United at the end of the 2021-22 season.
The 35-year-old previously had been linked with a potential move to Villarreal, however, due to the rumors that spread about him also considering an offer from Boca Juniors, resulting in a deal that could not be reached.
Edinson Cavani Seems to be Close to Deciding His Future Club
According to one of Fabrizio Romano’s tweets, Edinson Cavani is on the verge of joining his new club.
Fabrizio’s tweet stated, “Edinson Cavani will decide his future very soon. His priority has always been the La Liga move since February and it’s now really close. Valencia and Real Sociedad are both trying to convince Cavani.”
It is quite obvious, that the 35-year-old striker is still capable of a few years of top level football and is prioritizing a move to the La Liga club. It seems that amongst the rest Valencia and Real Sociedad are the clubs that have shown interest in signing him in recent weeks.
Cavani is one of the best goal scorer and would be a huge coup for any club that manages to secure his services. Although, he is likely to demand high wages in order to do so.
