A hardcore Cyberpunk 2077 player has hit the game’s level cap without even attempting the Heist mission, which happens right before the opening credits start rolling. The Reddit user uO__Ou shared their self-imposed challenge and explained it took them 40 hours and 30 minutes to complete. This is notable because How Long to Beat has the entire main story of Cyberpunk 2077 at around 25 hours and 30 minutes, meaning unfortunately this player ended up spending more time in the opening area than it would normally take to play the entire main game.

Cyberpunk 2077 starts you off with a handful of smaller missions before the main build-up to the story after The Heist. For some time, you are restricted to the Watson district, leaving little to do or how to build up experience points. But then uO__Ou discovered a workaround via using a method to exit Watson, which featured better grinding spots, though this method did not allow access to Night City’s side quests or other open-world activities.

uO__Ou voted Batty’s Hotel by Pacifica as the best farming spot and even advised doing this location a few times to level up more quickly. They also suggested sleeping once every hour for an experience bonus, as well as switching between different weapons for skills leveling up and said the grind may only take less than 35 hours with more efficient play.

Cyberpunk 2077’s way of progressing skills and perks is a bit like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, in that certain activities increase certain skills, but you are able to gain stat points as you level up. Namely, stealth kills/stealth attacks and headshots will increase the Headhunter skill, and crafting will increase the Engineer skill, for example. Using this methodology, uO__Ou got to Level 50 without doing any Main Quest Lines.
