In a webcast the following week, CD Projekt Red promises to showcase “what’s next” for Cyberpunk 2077. The business will reveal some fresh details regarding the upcoming Netflix series Cyberpunk Edgerunners in addition to its game. On September 6, a new episode of Night City will be shown online at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET.
In 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 had a rocky debut that earned it a reputation for being full of game-breaking bugs that required multiple patches to fix. Cyberpunk 2077 launched for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in February, and the plot of a forthcoming expansion seems to have leaked online.
The Keanu Reeves-voiced character Johnny Silverhand may play a less significant role and appear less frequently in the expansion, which is said to transport players to the Combat Zone and Sports Dome, two inaccessible locations in Night City. The ten-part Edgerunners television series will premiere on Netflix on September 13th.
The summary for the show states, “In a dystopia plagued with corruption and cybernetic implants, a gifted but reckless street boy wants to become an Edgerunner: a mercenary criminal. Anime producer Studio Trigger—known for Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia, and several other series—is handling animation chores and the show’s soundtrack has been written by Silent Hill’s Akira Yamaoka.

The first mention of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners came from CD Projekt in 2020 as a show that will connect to Cyberpunk 2077 but have its unique setting and cast of characters. The first two episodes will be available on September 4 at a pre-release screen if you want to watch them early and are attending PAX West in Seattle this weekend.
