Later this year, Intel’s Raptor Lake will fight head-to-head with AMD’s Raphael Ryzen 7000 CPUs, and the top Core i9-13900K might be up to 15% quicker than the present Alder Lake flagship, the Core i9-12900K.
The latest rumour comes from none other than @OneRaichu, who was spot on with his Alder Lake performance predictions. The leaker now claims that Intel’s next Core i9-13900K, the pinnacle of the 13th Gen Raptor Lake family, might achieve a Geekbench 5 score of over 2300 points.

The Intel Core i9-12900K Alder Lake CPU has a score of roughly 2000 points, while the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ‘Zen 3’ CPU has a score of around 1700 points. These results show a 15 percent performance boost over the Alder Lake CPU and a 35 percent performance boost over the Zen 3 CPU.
It appears to be a welcome improvement for a slightly revamped CPU with more cores/threads, cache, and a higher clock speed of up to 5.8 GHz.
Intel’s Core i9-13900K is termed to be 20% better than Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs
The Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs are predicted to provide a single-threaded performance boost of over 15%, ranging from 16 to 19 percent. This results in a single-threaded score of roughly 1800-1900 points, implying that the Zen 3 chips will be slightly slower than Alder Lake CPUs in single-threaded performance, but Raptor Lake might be up to 20% better in the same benchmark.

Even though AMD has stated that they are being careful with their performance claims, the figures could wind up being approximately 15% lower, Raptor Lake appears to have a minor advantage over Zen 4.
