A new PC Control update is now live, delivering a larger handful of technical goodies, including a fresh ray tracing preset, true HDR support, and the new NVIDIA DLSS version. Control March 2025 PC Update Adds Ultra Ray Tracing, HDR, Higher Resolutions, and NVIDIA DLSS 3.7
Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, previously a PS4 Digital Deluxe Edition exclusive narrated by Hideo Kojima, meanwhile, is now available for all PC players. Also, apart from unlocking these items, the March 2025 PC update includes numerous visual improvements. The new ultra-ray tracing preset provides temporal stability and more rays per pixel for better reflections and lighter fittings.
Ultrawide resolutions are now supported up to a 48:9 aspect ratio, increasing the number of multi-monitor setups for smoother gameplay. It also upgrades SDR to 10-bit in an effort to reduce visible color banding and adds support for more than 4K in resolution support. The other big update is with NVIDIA DLSS, which has been updated to version 3.7, improving temporal stability, adding DLAA support, and arbitrary resolution scaling.
Perhaps the most notable change to the app comes by way of official HDR support. However, according to early reports, the implementation merely caps overall brightness rather than adding highlight details. Fortunately, the community has discovered a workaround that allows players to restore the full HDR experience.
By modifying the renderer.ini file, different HDR presets can be applied, including one that mimics the original HDR mod by Filippo Tarpini. Control is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. A sequel is currently in development, alongside a multiplayer spin-off titled FBC: Firebreak, which is set to launch later this year.
