The crossover between Call of Duty and Amazon’s hit superhero show The Boys has been officially confirmed. The fourth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently underway, with a fifth season set to begin early next month.
Call of Duty has previously had various film and television crossovers, including Rambo and Ghostface in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War and, most recently, Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Modern Warfare 2. This latest collaboration with The Boys was first revealed as a logo on the side of a building in Call of Duty’s Season 4 trailer, which debuted last month at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. With the announcement of Call of Duty’s mid-season update, three characters from The Boys will be making their way to Vondel.
The Boys’ crossover into the multiplayer shooter has been featured in Call of Duty’s Season 4 Reloaded announcement.
Three characters from The Boys, Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, will be added to Call of Duty via operator packages for a limited time. Each bundle will cost 2,400 COD Points and will include three weapon blueprints, weapon charms, loading screens, emblems, and other goodies. The Starlight bundle will be released initially on July 12, followed by Homelander and Black Noir on July 16 and July 20, respectively.
Season 4 Reloaded will include a limited-time field improvement that players can find and use in Warzone and DMZ. This new field improvement, named Temp-V after the show’s super serum, will randomly grant the user one of four superpowers upon usage. Charge Jump propels players across the battlefield, damaging anything in their path, whilst Teleport propels the player forward, comparable to Tracer’s famed Blink skill in Overwatch. In terms of damage, Laser Vision allows players to melt their opponents in the style of Homelander, while Electric Shockwave gives electric damage and can destroy vehicles.
Furthermore, Activision’s new blog article contains complete information about the Whisker Tango store bundle for Season 4 Reloaded. The bundle includes two cat operators named Sgt Pspsps and Sgt Sprinkles. The “Cat Scratch” assault rifle blueprint and the “Pouncer” submachine gun blueprint are included in this lethal feline combination. The bundle also includes a vehicle skin, weapon charm, vinyl, five stickers, and an insignia.
