Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies – New Map and Updates Detailed

A host of new features and improvements are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as part of the midseason update, which will also add a new Zombies map named Citadelle des Morts on December 5. The most recently released episode of Call of Duty’s official podcast reveals more about the unique Wonder Weapons on the map, as well as several gameplay enhancements for Zombies.

Citadelle des Morts takes place in a Castle in France and continues the story from the Terminus Easter egg cutscene. Kevin Drew, Treyarch’s associate design director for Zombies, shared the new details during the podcast. As for the most significant features that stand out — four elemental swords that can be equip as Wonder Weapons to a magical-focused map. While described as a big map, players can look forward to tightly-knit, claustrophobic areas inside the castle’s interiors, adding to the challenge and lore.

There are returning fan-favorite features such as the Tesla Storm field upgrade and the Vulture Aid perk, as well as a new ammo mod and 18 augments to unlock, for significantly more variety in gameplay.

Drew also shared details of a number of quality-of-life updates coming to the Zombies experience. Mangler Spawns: Mangler spawns, which could overwhelm players at rounds beyond 25, will now be reduced. There will also be a limit on active Manglers up until Round 100, which will make attempts to push into that upper-round range easier. Special rounds, like the recently added Vermin and Parasite waves, will now be shorter to address complaints about slowly spawning enemies.

The intention with these updates is to fine-tune the Zombies mode, so it is better balanced and more fun for users. More information is going to be shared about Citadelle des Morts and additional changes in Thursday’s Season 1 Reloaded patch notes, which will become available closer to this update’s launch. This midseason update will be an all-new experience in Black Ops 6 Zombies, thanks to the new map and other unique features and gameplay modifications not often seen in Zombies.
