The Spanish club Barcelona is getting ready to face a new summer transfer window soon which is going to be crucial for the club’s future. According to a media report, the club can even follow the contract termination for the extreme cases this summer to add important funds.
The second most successful La Liga club (26 times champions) and five-time UEFA Champions League winners Barcelona are now going through a challenging phase since the last summer.
Barcelona had a tough time in 2021/22 season
Club’s turmoil financial condition forced them to leave their all-time leading goal-scorer, Lionel Messi, in the last season due to being unable to sign him a new contract in the current financial structure. Moreover, many players went through pay cuts in that almost disastrous situation.
Though Barca initially struggled in the 2021/22 season, the manager Xavi’s arrival motivated the team as they gradually evolved into one of the top challenging sides in European football. Now, the club is going to face a new summer transfer window which is very important for them to restructure the team.
There is no doubt that Barcelona need some time to handle the present financial crisis as they aren’t in a comfortable position yet.
Latest news about Barcelona
Recently, Barcelona President Joan Laporta claimed in an interview that the club could follow extreme steps to handle the present financial stress.
However, according to the recent report of SPORT, the Spanish club is currently not considering another pay cut for the players to arrange more funds.
While Barcelona management is trying their best to add some quality players to the squad in this new transfer window, they will also try their best to get proper replacement clubs for their unplanned contracted players.
But if the club fails to find proper clubs for their present unplanned contracted players, the club may go for contract termination of these players to add crucial funds, according to the recent report of Barca Universal. This termination procedure can be even more harmful to the club if the players choose to take legal action against them.
The last summer, the Brazilian central-midfielder Matheus Fernandes faced a similar situation as his contract with the club was terminated. He then returned to the Brazilian Serie A club Palmeiras, while he is currently serving for another Brazilian Serie A club Athletico Paranaense on loan.
However, the Barca Universal website also added that the contract termination procedure is likely to be followed only in extreme situations for the Spanish club. Currently, they are only focusing on smooth transitions.
