Warner Bros has brought to light the cast and release date for the upcoming Barbie film. Co-written by Noah Baumbach, the Greta Gerwig directorial, Barbie production is underway on the Mattel films and Warner Bros Project.

Things to Know About the Movie
Both the co-writer and director of the movie have worked initially in Lady Bird. Reports suggest the live-action movie has been desired to happen since 2014. Sources state Amy Schumer was the one selected to appear in Barbie. However, she called it quits after a conflicting schedule. Then, the role was taken away by Anna Hathaway. Anyways, concerning the several delays, the film never took place. Now, Margaret Robbie will be there as the central character of the movie.

John Lutz says,
“Plot details for Barbie are mum at the moment, though with the sheer bulk and talent levels of the cast, a very fun and bold film is likely in store.”
The statement further added,
“Robbie stars alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken, America Ferrera, Simu Lu, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, and Will Ferrell as the CEO of a Mattel-like toy company.”

Back in 2021, in a statement, while speaking about the Barbie doll, Robbie said it was a toy that “comes with a lot of baggage and several nostalgic connections. But with that, comes many exciting ways to attack it.”
Robbie said that whenever people think about it, they generally think they know what the movie is about to be. But when they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, they go like, “Oh, well, maybe I don’t.”
