    Asia Cup 2022, India vs Hong Kong: Rohit Sharma created a record by becoming the first batsman to score 3500 runs in T20I

    Indian national team captain Rohit Sharma became the first batter to score 3500 runs in a t20I career. He achieved this feat during India’s second match in Asia Cup 2022 against Hong Kong.

    The Indian skipper left New Zealand’s Martin Guptill behind to achieve this. The latter mustered 2497 runs but the former did take more time in registering the number.

    Rohit Sharma is one of the two Indian batters to have this record. He had played a total of 134 matches in which he got the opportunity to bat in 126 innings. he had an average of 32.18 and is considered to be one of the best batters of contemporary cricket. The third spot is taken by Virat Kohli. He mustered 3343 runs in the format in 92 innings at a better average of 49.89.

    India had to bat first, Rohit Sharma did create record for himself but couldn’t score a lot of runs. he did smash two fours and now six during his stay in the middle over. Hong Kong’s skipper Nizakat had won the toss and chose to bowl first against India. Rohit stated that he did desire to bowl first. He admitted that they have to do their basics right against the team in order to win the match.
