Virat Kohli played his 100th T20 Indian international match at the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan. It was a memorable match as India won the game by 5 wickets. With this, he became the first Indian cricketer and second internationally to feature in 100 games across every format.
Virat made his comeback after he took a break in recent times. While he was the captain of India, he gifted India with a lot of runs. Under his leadership, India didn’t win an ICC Trophy but there have been a lot of record-breaking wins. BCCI has also shared a video of his teammates congratulating him for his achievement. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant showered the cricketer with a lot of appreciation.
On the other hand, Bhveneshwar Kumar has now become the leading wicket-taker against Pakistan in T20Is. Bhveneshwar Kumar picked four wickets against Pakistan in their first match in Asia Cup. With this, he broke Irfan Pathan’s record (6).
The Indian bowling star bagged two more wickets and had a bowling figure of 4/26 in the high-pressure match. He has now nine wickets against Pakistan in the T20I format with just five appearances. His bowling figures against the arch-rivals are the best by an Indian in T20Is.
After him, the second most successful bowler is Hardik Pandya who broke Irfan Pathan’s record by picking three essential wickets in the match.
The Men in Blue restricted the Men in Green to just 147 runs by scalping all the 10 wickets. Apart from Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh picked two wickets and Avesh Khan scaled one. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja remained wicketless in the six over they got individually.
