Apple won’t release an iPad with an OLED panel until 2022, despite the fact that OLED displays are the finest in the industry for contrast, black levels, and colour reproduction. Since a long time ago, Apple has been making iPads.

Rumour has claimed that LG and Samsung will supply Apple with 6th generation OLED display panels for the company’s first OLED iPads. In 2024, Apple is expected to offer the aforementioned iPads in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes.

According to a recent story by The Elec, Samsung Display would even “likely be able to mass-produce Gen 8.5 OLED panels in late 2024 to aim for Apple’s second-generation OLED iPad.” However, it’s still unclear whether the provider would actually consent to such. It is anticipated the decision will be taken before the end of July.

According to reports, 8.5 OLED screens may be more expensive for Samsung Display if Apple decides to employ the technology more widely. That claim is fairly well supported by the latest findings.

Apple is likely to introduce an OLED iPad, whatever the circumstances. The only model produced by the Cupertino company, which is currently the sole prominent tablet manufacturer, is the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

In a recent tweet, renowned display technology expert Ross Young claimed that even Apple would someday adopt OLED screens in more devices than only its iPhones. He asserts that considerable technological advancements will occur in the upcoming years “due to tandem stacks, phosphorescent blue emitters, etc.” In addition, a significant price drop is projected.

It’s unlikely that an OLED-screen iPad will be released this year or even the year after that, but 2024 could be the year that Apple formally unveils the first model in its series of tablets.
