Today, Apple ended its program which offered its customers possibly defective iPhone 8 models with a free repair for their logic board. This fault in some cases reportedly caused Apple’s device to restart and become unresponsive.
Many users had reported being infected with this issue and Apple had to offer free repairs to its users iPhone 8’s logic board.
The program was officially launched by Apple in August of 2018 and it targeted a “very small percentage” of ‌iPhone‌ 8 devices that may have had a defective logic board. According to official sources, Apple had stated at that time, that the models which were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S, were the most likely models to report faulty logic boards. Ironically, the iPhone‌ 8 Plus was not a part of the program, and the Cupertino giant had previously prompted its customers on its support website to check if they were eligible for a free repair.
However, now Apple has reported that it is officially ending and has removed the service from its repair program list on its website. The program ran for more than three years, and even though the service has finished, several customers who are still experiencing issues with their ‌iPhone‌ 8 should contact the Cupertino giant support team as they may still be willing to help.
A logic board is the main printed circuit board in general-purpose computers and other expandable systems. It holds and allows communication between many of the crucial electronic components of a system, such as the central processing unit and memory, and provides connectors for other peripherals.
