A placeholder product page for a new Apple Mac computer with an Apple Silicon M2 processor has been set up by popular online electronics retailer B&H Photo. On Monday, Apple will have its WWDC keynote, and the Apple press is eager to acquire first-hand information. Nonetheless, blogs like 9to5 Mac acknowledge that the B&H listing could be a publicity stunt or a fraud, given Apple doesn’t share any information with resellers before product releases.
The new Mac Mini with an M2 processor is the first of B&H Photo’s ‘accidental’ early product page leaks. According to the retailer’s website, this small computer is available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (possibly others). “Checkout will be available at 9:45 pm ET Monday night,” the store states, adding a little spice to its offering.
The keynote on an opening day, Monday, June 6, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, kicks off WWDC22, which runs from Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10. Apple has a habit of opening sales, or at least pre-orders, of new items soon after they are announced.
The classic Mac Mini will be familiar to almost all readers. As a result, the focus tomorrow will be on what’s inside, with this listing hinting at the introduction of the new M2 processor. Perhaps B&H read our early March piece about speculations of M2 Mac Minis arriving in mid-2022. According to the analysis, modern M2 processors use a combination of Avalanche performance cores and Blizzard efficiency cores. In addition, the number of GPU cores is likely to be enhanced, and the TSMC process node will be upgraded from N5 to N5P. According to reports, the Apple M3 SoCs will be built on TSMC’s next-generation N3 node.
Of all, no one knows how much better the new M2 SoCs will make Apple’s Mac updates perform. Even with the keynote and presentation slides in hand, we won’t have the clearest picture, since a cloud of marketing will be thrown on top of the technical knowledge. As a result, we’ll have to wait for third-party testing and comparisons to get a true sense of what M2 offers.

Interestingly, this comes with an M1 Pro SoC and the same 8GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity as the Mac Mini, even though it’s a more expensive design. The tower design, according to 9to5 Mac, is a likely hint that the product page is a hoax created for the amusement of someone at B&H. To put it another way, take these two listings with a grain of salt.
At the end of its March event, Apple hinted at a new Mac Pro on the road, so if there’s a ‘tower’ being prepared for debut tomorrow, that’s what we’re expecting. In late 2019, the last Mac Pro, sometimes known as the cheese grater, was released with up to a 28-core Intel Xeon processor.
The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13 are two other Macs that could get an update. Outside of laptops and desktop computers, Apple’s debut AR/VR headset could be the most anticipated product introduction of tomorrow.
The majority of the week will be devoted to software, with MacOS 13, iPad 16, iOS 16, TVOS 16, and WatchOS 9 all scheduled to be released during WWDC22, as well as new and better apps.
