Eve Jobs, the daughter of Steve Jobs, a cofounder of Apple, appeared to criticise her father’s business on Wednesday. The iPhone 14 was unveiled on Wednesday during Apple’s “Far Out” event, and 24-year-old Jobs made fun of the fact that it looked suspiciously like the previous smartphone generation in an Instagram meme.
“Me upgrading from iPhone 13 to iPhone 14 after Apple’s announcement today,” the popular meme reads. The meme shows a man holding up a shirt that is identical to the one he is wearing.
Jobs, a daughter of Laurene Powell Jobs, is the youngest of the four children of the Apple co-founder. She is a Stanford University alumna and a skilled rider. Additionally, she has a contract with DNA Model Management, the same agency that manages Emily Ratajkoswki and Kaia Gerber.
She is a “strong-willed, witty firecracker,” according to Walter Isaacson, who claimed that Steve Jobs once stated he could see her leading Apple or even becoming president of the United States.
“Apple lost the ability to bring out products that could revolutionise a market,” Tech industry analyst Rob Enderle of Enderle Group said on the 10-year anniversary of Steve Jobs’ death. “They became a financially-focused company very effective at milking its faithful users,” he added.
Jobs usually updates her more than 300,000 fans on her modelling work or equestrian victories, but her dig at Apple is particularly stinging. Since Jobs left in 2011 and Tim Cook became CEO, some critics have said that the tech company has lost some of its inventiveness.
