Apex Legends Season 27: Amped launches November 4, 2024, with game-changing aerial combat buffs that put Valkyrie and Horizon back on top. Respawn’s latest update transforms Olympus into a vertical playground while empowering legends who control the skies. Here’s everything you need to dominate Season 27.

Olympus Gets a Vertical Overhaul

Season 27 reimagines Olympus with four brand-new points-of-interest designed for high-altitude warfare. Somers University replaces Orbital Cannon with high-flying lifts, while Gravity Engine transforms Energy Depot into a zone packed with zip rails. Stabilizer brings floating traversable rocks where Docks once stood, and Dockyard upgrades the camp near Hydroponics.

According to Respawn’s senior level designer Michael Shannon, these locations create “new hot drop potential” for players hunting high-kill games. The revamped map emphasizes movement and airborne firefights, making verticality the name of the game.

Valkyrie Takes Flight Again

Valkyrie receives massive buffs across her entire kit. Her VTOL Jets passive now recharges three times faster with increased speed, while her Skyward Dive ultimate launches quicker. Most importantly, Missile Swarm no longer damages Valkyrie herself, scans enemies on hit, and cancels movement abilities.

Legend designer Ian Holstead explains that Valkyrie’s jetpack “delivers on that jetfighter fantasy” with faster cooldowns and improved responsiveness. The Super Sonic upgrade makes her ultimate viable in situations where it previously fell short.

Horizon Masters Verticality

Horizon’s buffs restore her movement-focused gameplay with new aerial control options. Players can now fast-fall by crouching mid-air or glide from her Gravity Lift tactical. The ability features shorter cooldown, faster lift speed, and charge regeneration on knockdowns. Her Black Hole ultimate also gains increased health.

These changes reclaim Horizon’s position as the “master of verticality,” giving skilled players sharper tools for aerial dominance and quick re-engagement.

Rampart Becomes a Defensive Powerhouse

Rampart’s Amped Cover tactical gets major improvements. Walls now scale with your Evo level, regenerate when not under fire, and include roofs blocking aerial attacks. Behind cover, you and allies enjoy faster reloads and infinite ammo—transforming Rampart from static defender to aggressive momentum builder.

Alternator Gets Double Tap

The community-requested Alternator + Double Tap Hop-Up combo is finally here. Unlike previous versions, this fires both barrels simultaneously for devastating close-range damage. Weapons designer Casey O’Brien calls it “incredibly deadly” and “incredibly fun.”

Season 27 also introduces visual Mantle Boost indicators, making advanced movement accessible to all players. Wildcard mode expands to Olympus with Mythic R-99 firing Valkyrie missiles and new cards like Burning Rubber.
