Hunted, the fourteenth season of Apex Legends, will debut in less than two weeks. Players are understandably more interested in the details of Season 14 as the current season comes to an end, especially as rumors and hypotheses flood social media and unsubstantiated data mining leaks appear.
The first episode of Season 14 will air on August 9 at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. ET, and the launch trailer will air on July 28 at 8 a.m. PDT/11 a.m. ET. After then, patch notes will probably appear along with the gameplay trailer for the upcoming season.
Vantage, a sniper-focused legend whose appearance and skills were leaked alongside eight other forthcoming legends back in March, has recently been confirmed as Season 14’s new legend. Respawn has revealed some information about her personality (and her propensity for breaking the rules), but her skills have not yet been verified.
We do know that she was born to Xenia Contrares, an escaped prisoner who was a passenger on a Gaean detention ship that was presumably en route to a prison facility and that her full name is Xiomara Contrares. The ship crashed on the freezing, deserted planet Pàgos for unknown causes, and Xenia, who was pregnant, was the only survivor. The G.D.S. Vantage is the name of the ship, and it also serves as Xiomara’s callsign. Xiomara found that almost everything her mother had told her about the world and her family’s history was a lie after she decided to defy her and examine the ship’s wreckage.
Vantage was finally picked up by the authorities and joined (or possibly was even forced into joining) the Apex Games after narrowly evading the ship’s cruel security system after Xiomara’s mother turned on her distress signal. On Pàgos, her mother Xenia is probably still hiding.
The only planet in the Apex Legends world that has an Arenas map (“Encore”) but no map for battle royale mode is Boreas, which is Seer’s home planet. As seen in a recent animated short posted on the official Apex Twitter account earlier this month, many people still hold the all-seeing artist responsible for the destruction of the planet’s moon Cleo when Seer was born. The next map for Apex Legends might be Cleo.
When Respawn shared a picture of Newcastle’s desk near the end of Season 12—shortly after Newcastle’s debut trailer—they were also suggesting Cleo being a map location. A laptop was set up on his desk and was broadcasting a news clip about Octane’s great-grandfather Torres Silva and his recent takeover of the Mercenary Syndicate, the organization in charge of the Apex Games. However, a closer examination of the screen provides another indication that Cleo might be included on a map. A partially-obscured news ticker at the very bottom of the screen reads, “BOREAS NEWS: Funding for Cleo declines, CRC in an impasse about the future of the moon.”
Dataminers have discovered a collection of cosmetic products with a wildlife theme, suggesting that a hunting or safari-themed event is in the works. Character skins, weapon charms, and banner frames are examples of cosmetics. The majority of players and data miners believe these things are a part of a temporary event because there aren’t enough of them and they could be battle pass stuff.
One of two new limited-time modes that recently arrived in the Apex Legends mobile app is called Gun Game. Players must go through a variety of weapons in this mode, scoring points for killing other players. The team with the most points wins, however you can avoid this by scoring three melee kills, which gives you the victory right away.
