Akshay Kumar starrer historical drama Prithviraj’s release has been postponed. Akshay will be seen in the movie portraying the titular role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The film was set to hit the theatres on January 21st but has been put on hold concerning the rising cases of Covid 19 in the country. The increase in cases has also led to the shut down of many cinema halls across different cities. The postponing decision seems to have come from this.
Taran Adarsh, the movie trade analyst shared the news on Twitter stating, Prithviraj will not come out on 21st January and YRF is yet to announce a new date.
Prithviraj: What Does it Showcase?
Chandraprakash Dwivedi written and directed Prithviraj showcases the valour of India’s mightiest Samrat. The legendary warrior ruled recent-day Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and some sections of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Actor Akshay Kumar, playing the main protagonist in the movie has stated the film to be a tribute to the great warrior and ruler. The actor even said earlier that he was amazed to read and know more about the ruler, how gloriously he lived his life and maintained the values.
Prithviraj: Cast
Former Miss World Manushi Chillar makes her Bollywood debut in the movie. The film further casts big names including Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt, Sakshi Tanwar, Ashutosh Rana, Lalit Tiwari and Manav Vij. The YRF produced magnum opus got started with the filming from November 2019. Other than this movie, Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey and SS Rajamouli’s RRR releases have been postponed too!
Fans were excited to see their favourite actor Akshay Kumar back on the big screen again after Sooryavanshi. The actor’s recent release ‘Atrangi Re’ with co-stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan is streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
