And it keeps increasing in an alarmingly high rate.
According to a report by The Information, 360,000 wireless headsets have been seized at US border checkpoints since October 2020. If they enter the market, the value of these products will exceed $ 62 million. The amount of property seized in fiscal 2021 surpassed the record number in fiscal 2020 in just nine months. The statistics further show concrete details. We see that after the launch of Apple AirPods, the number of professionals seized by US Customs skyrocketed in 2019. Amazon sells for $ 197. That year, the value of all seized wireless headphones was more that we ever thought, around $ 3.3 million.
As a result, the value of all confiscated counterfeit earphones has doubled twenty-fold in just three years. However, the agency did not provide specific model information of the affected headphones.
