AC Milan is now in plans to make Simon Kjaer the new captain of the club, after the Danish captain helped save Christian Eriksen’s life, when he collapsed during the Denmark versus Finland match of EURO 2021 on 13th June.
Heroic step by Kjaer
Eriksen’s health deteriorated on the field, as he faced cardiac arrest during the match. Simon Kjaer rushed to him soon and played a vital role in helping his teammate. The Danish defender was the first to come to the spot, and he did well in his work. He ensured that Eriksen won’t swallow his tongue, as it may be fatal. Kjaer ensured that the fresh air reaches his lung, and was and his tongue won’t block it. and he also gave Eriksen CPR soon, before medical assistance came.
Kjaer also directed his teammates, to form a barrier around Eriksen, until he gets proper medical treatment, and has privacy. The 32-year-old Danish captain also handled Eriksen’s wife Sabrina and relieved her, who was very up, who was frantic by the scenario.
Then he instructed his teammates to escort the motionless Eriksen to the changing rooms via a stretcher, along with an oxygen mask, set on his nose. After 13 minutes the 29-year-old attacking mid-fielder got admitted to the hospital in a stable condition.
AC Milan’s strategy
Kjaer’s overall actions were very essential in saving Eriksen’s life, and AC Milan didn’t overlook it. There are considering making Kjaer the new captain of the club. The current AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli could leave the club this summer, and he is even not a regular starter anymore. On the other hand, vice-captain Gianluigi Donnarumma is ready to join Paris Saint-German, with the end of his current contract.
