Manchester United fans have been told who new manager Ralf Rangnick is targeting, and it’s safe to say it’s an exciting prospect. The German coach has agreed to serve as an interim manager before continuing as a senior football advisor for another two years.

Reports of Amadou Haidara joining from RB Leipzig have been circulating for a few days, and there’s reason to believe it could happen. After all, he has a 33 million release clause and has already declared his desire to play for his dream club, Manchester United.

What’s fresh from Christian Falk is that Haidara might replace Paul Pogba, something no one expected. Rangnick’s ties to Erling Haaland will undoubtedly aid the Red Devils in their pursuit of the player’s signing, but he will still need to calm the ship before persuading him to join with them.

If Manchester United fails to qualify for the Champions League and perhaps win a domestic trophy, friendly ties with the Norwegian striker are unlikely to help. Given his troubles in the Premier League and United’s present attacking options, Timo Werner of Chelsea being linked with a move to Old Trafford is an unexpected one.

It’s hard to say where he’ll fit in or whether he has anything unique to offer in comparison to the other forwards on the roster. Christopher Nkunku may be a good fit for United because he’s another much-needed midfielder with a lot of versatility.

At Old Trafford, though, Bruno Fernandes has a stranglehold on the number 10 position, and the flanks are well-stocked.
