The 2024 DICE Awards is history, and one stand-out favorite amongst the judges was Astro Bot. Once again, Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller and Stella Chung are back as hosts, and the show celebrates and highlights the best that gaming had to offer over the past year, including the best games and the talented people who made them.
All the Winners from the 2025 DICE Awards: Game of the Year, Best Action, RPG, and More
It was Team Asobi’s delightful platformer Astro Bot that cleaned up, winning Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, and the coveted Game of the Year award. Another big winner was Helldivers 2, which took home music and audio design as well as Action Game of the Year and Online Game of the Year.
Balatro, a hit roguelike deck-builder from last year, was nominated for several awards, winning in the categories of Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game, and Mobile Game of the Year. For its part, Metaphor: ReFantazio was crowned the best RPG, and Black Myth: Wukong received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction.
The DICE Awards not only recognized the games themselves but also industry veterans. At the ceremony, former Nintendo of America VP Don James was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in gaming and for his charitable efforts with Starlight Children’s Foundation. Ted Price, founder of Insomniac Games, was also inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
