Ivan Toney betting ban: England FA charge him with more 30 breaches and the total number gets up to 262

Back in November, the Brentford striker Ivan Toney was charged with breaking law 232 for a four-year time span. The England player has now been further imposed with 30 alleged regulation breaches. All belong to a separate two-year period, and the total tally goes up to 262.

Ivan Toney charged with additional 39 breaches to take the tally to 262

Days after Toney was dropped from the national squad for the World Cup, the initial allegations came out, and speculations started piling up. However, CEO Mark Bullingham stated that the charges against him were not related anyhow to his exclusion from the World Cup side. Toney has said that he’ll support FA’s inquiries and won’t be speaking about anything until that’s wrapped up.

An FA statement read,

“Ivan Toney has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of the FA’s Betting Rules. In addition to the previous charge, it is alleged that Brentford FC Forward breached FA Rule E8 a further 30 minutes between 14 March 2017 and 18 February 2019. Ivan Toney has until Wednesday, 4 January 2023, to provide a response.”

Allegations leading to obscure Premier league performance?

The allegations prevailing in him have somewhat obscured his Premier League display this season. In 14 games, he scored 10 goals. The striker will appear against Tottenham for Brentford in the Premier League, scheduled for Boxing Day.

After a report calling Toney has been the center of an investigation on November 5th, he said in an online Twitter post:

“I’m aware of a story about me in a national newspaper today. I have been assisting the Football Association with their inquiries and will not be making any comment until such an investigation has reached its conclusion.”
