Real Madrid’s impeccable form dates back to almost 600 days

In the last 40 days, Real Madrid has scored nine straight wins to keep the 2022/23 season off to a perfect start, while the Spanish capital’s outfit has been in top form for almost 600 days.

The series covers the end of the 2020/21 season, all of last year, and the beginning of this season.

Since February 2021, Real Madrid has played 89 games in all competitions, winning 63, drawing 16, and losing 10. This meant that the Whites won 71% of his games during this period.

If we look only at La Liga Santander, the percentage rises to 73%, with 45 wins, 13 draws, and 4 losses in 62 matches. So Real Madrid scored 148 out of 186 points, which is 80%.

Real Madrid has 20 points more than their Catalan rivals and 31 more than their cross-town opponents when compared to the last 62 games between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga Santander.

Barcelona earned 69% of possible points and Atletico earned 62% of offered points.

But why were we only considering games after February 2021? Because that’s when Zinedine Zidane almost lost his job and when Real Madrid started to emerge from the recent sporting crisis.

In January 2021, Real Madrid was eliminated from the Supercopa de Espana and Copa del Rey, losing at home to Levante in La Liga Santander and trailing Atletico Madrid by 10 points.

Faced one defeat in four months of 2020-21

After hitting rock bottom, Real Madrid recovered. His last four months of competition in the 2020-21 season have been spectacular.

They beat Huesca on 6th February and lost again in La Liga Santander on 22 May. With 13 wins and 5 draws, they fought for the title until the final round.

In the Champions League, they reached the semi-finals against Chelsea, suffering their only defeat of the period. Real Madrid has set a record of 16 wins, 7 draws, and 1 loss in the last four months of the 2020-21 season.

A marvelous start to 2022-23

The team has been on their A-game this season with an impeccable record of 9 wins from 9 games.

They have already won the UEFA Super Cup and are currently leading La Liga Santander and top of the Champions League group. The team also won the Madrid derby, beating Atletico his Madrid at the Civitas Metropolitano.

A disastrous start to the season confirms Real Madrid’s excellent form over the past year and a half.
