OPPO set to announce its new Android 13 Based ColorOS in August this Year

The official, out-of-the-box user interface for these smartphones is ColorOS, which is created by smartphone OEM OPPO. Although only in the company’s home country of China, it has also been ported to countries of its subsidiary OnePlus. Although its most recent 12.1 version is based on Android 12, it is clear that a successor with the aptly named moniker of 13 is already in the works.

According to the blog 91Mobiles, OPPO will be prepared to launch ColorOS 13 globally by the end of August 2022. Even Google’s Pixel phones won’t have the upgrade by then, so this may seem absurdly early. However, the OEM is actively spreading it to users, although through a restricted beta.

No more than 1,000 users of the OPPO Find X5 Pro and X5 flagships, the China-only OnePlus 10 Pro, and the first foldable Find N, situated in either China or India, are supposedly eligible for this programme.

Therefore, the OEM may be on track to release a final stable version soon, just like its sibling company Realme with the GT 2 Pro. However, should it actually release the upgrade in August 2022, it may only serve as a showcase of its features, similar to what OnePlus did with its global OxygenOS 13 analogue.

The premium mid-range Reno8 series, however, is now also expected to receive the update by September 2022. Therefore, Android 13 may indeed surpass its predecessor with the haste that earlier leaks have suggested.
