Dead by Light and Resident Evil is having a Second Crossover Event

Another Resident Evil crossover is coming to Dead by Daylight’s Project W chapter, bringing in fan favourites Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers to the game’s playable cast. The series antagonist Wesker will be included in the asymmetrical, multiplayer survival horror game as a playable killer, while heroes Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers will be playable survivors, developer Behavior Interactive just revealed.

The three add to the cast of characters that already includes Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Nemesis, who were initially seen in the first Resident Evil-themed chapter of Dead by Daylight last year. The Raccoon City Police Department map was also introduced in the chapter.

Given that the Raccoon City Police Department is the setting of Project W’s cinematic teaser, it doesn’t appear that there will be a new Resident Evil-themed map this time. Instead, the chapter, according to Behavior Interactive, would include a “reworked” version of the map based on the famous setting from Resident Evil 2.

While Ada Wong is seen wearing her recognizable red outfit from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, Wesker’s appearance (and his Uroboros tentacles) come right out of Resident Evil 5. Rebecca Chambers, a member of STARS who not only stars in Resident Evil 0 but also appears in the original Resident Evil remake, resembles herself quite a bit in both of those games.

The chapter trailer for the crossover event merely mentions that it will be “coming soon,” without providing a specific release date. Dead by Daylight will continue the pattern of several horror franchises collaborating with Project W, which has recently featured events and characters from Silent Hill, Saw, Scream, Halloween, and more.

Behavior Interactive recently debuted Meet Your Maker, a new multiplayer first-person shooter where players can band together to raid dungeons loaded with numerous traps made by the game’s community, in addition to Project W. On August 23, a closed playtest for Meet Your Maker will take place; registration is open via the game’s official website.
