The Spanish club giants Real Madrid, one of the most successful sports clubs in Europe, is set to leave their long-time sponsor Audi and welcome BMW.
According to the recent report of Marca, the popular Spanish national daily sports newspaper, Real Madrid and BMW sponsorship will officially begin on 1st July 2022. However, there is no official news yet.
Audi vs BMW
The German car manufacturer Audi is very popular worldwide. Audi joined as a sponsor of Real Madrid in 2003, and they have continued the strong relationship till the 2021/22 season. According to the sponsors’ page of the official Los Blancos website, Audi is a Global sponsor of the club’s men’s football and basketball teams.
The latest contract between the Whites and Audi will end on 31st July 2022. There is no news about any new deal between them as Audi is set to leave the Spanish giants after 19 long years.
BMW or Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is another worldwide popular German luxury vehicles and motorcycles manufacturer. They are now likely to take up the Global sponsor duty of Real Madrid. So, BMW will now take the responsibility for the football club’s men’s first-team players’ vehicle from the beginning of the 2022/23 season. The details of this deal are likely to be announced soon.
Real Madrid men’s football team and basketball team
Real Madrid is one of the most popular clubs in the football world. This 120-year-old Spanish top-tier football club has won more than 90 trophies, including the records like 35 Spanish La Liga titles, 14 UEFA Champions League trophies and four FIFA Club World Cups. In the last season (2021/22), Los Blancos won the Supercopa de Espana, La Liga title and UEFA Champions League trophy.
Meanwhile, the Real Madrid team is equally popular in the basketball world. In their 91-year history of action, they have won more than 100 trophies. They are holding the record for most Spanish League titles (36 times) and most EuroLeague trophies (10 times) in basketball. In the last season (2021/22), they won Spanish Super Cup, Spanish League and finished as the runners-up in the EuroLeague.
