Battlestate Games reportedly working on Deathmatch Mode for its Escape from Tarkov Game

Battlestate Games, the creators of Escape from Tarkov, said on Friday that the arena mode that fans have been anticipating is a “standalone game project.” The spin-off, dubbed Escape from Tarkov Arena, will play similarly to the original Escape from Tarkov game, but instead of high-stakes looting and extraction, it will focus on “gladiatorial” combat in arenas scattered across Tarkov, according to the developers.

Battlestate must have become bored of others plagiarizing their work and decided to do some copying of their own. Escape from Tarkov is also one of the most successful Russian-developed games, so they may be aiming to fill a void left by businesses like Activision Blizzard exiting the Russian market in the aftermath of the country’s violent invasion of Ukraine. Battlestate has spoken relatively little about the invasion of Ukraine in public, preferring to focus on its games.

Escape from Tarkov Arena is a stand-alone game project – a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter for PC featuring all of the Escape from Tarkov’s well-known and well-loved tough game elements. Players will fight in gladiatorial combat staged by a secret gang of Arena Masters led by the Host in numerous venues throughout Tarkov.

Different PvP and PvE game modes, ratings, weapon, and gear unlock, and unique features for owners of the main Escape from Tarkov game, such as the opportunity to play as your primary profile character, will all be available in the game. The arena will be available as free DLC for owners of the EoD pack.

The Arena will be paid for in all other versions of EFT, and it may also be purchased independently from the main game. In the fall of this year, Escape from Tarkov Arena will begin closed testing. A release date for the game hasn’t been announced as of yet.
