Letv, previously branded as LeEco, had been out of the public eye for a long time until it launched new TWS earbuds under the Letv brand last month. With the Y1 Pro, Letv has declared its return to the smartphone market.
It has chosen a distinct design language that just so happens to be identical to the one Apple is expected to use in the next iPhone 14. This is an insight that has inspired Abhishek Yadav, a leaker, to have some fun with the launch on Twitter.

The New Letv Phone
The Letv Y1 Pro even has a similar rear camera hump to the iPhone 13 or 13 Mini, but it only features an 8MP main camera and a less well-defined “AI Camera.” It also has a 5MP front-facing camera in a notch that might have easily been a punch-hole or waterdrop notch.
As a result, the Letv Y1 Pro resembles the Gionee G13 Pro quite closely; the two even share the same Unisoc T310 processor. The latest edition, on the other hand, has a larger 6.5-inch (but still HD+) display, a larger 4,000mAh battery (with no mention of fast charging), and a headphone jack as well as a USB Type-C port drilled into its straight-edged frame.

The Y1 Pro arrived with Le OS 9.1 based on Android 11, as well as a surprisingly hefty 256GB top-end storage SKU, which is joined by a half-size variant and a 32GB base model. On the other hand, they all have 4GB of RAM. Letv’s first smartphone in several years costs under 499 yuan (US$75) and is now exclusively available in China.
