While the English Premier League club Chelsea has just officially started their new era under the new ownership of Todd Boehly’s consortium, they are now completely busy handling the crucial summer transfer window. The West London club has some crucial targets in this summer transfer window, including some statement signings.
The six-time English first division title winners (including five-time Premier League trophies) and two-time UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea will have to face a busy summer transfer window. While the German centre-back Antonio Rudiger has just left the club after his contract finished and already moved to the Spanish giants Real Madrid, many other important players can leave the club in this transfer window.
The manager Thomas Tuchel and Sporting Director Petr Cech are currently finding out their best possibilities to set a good challenging team for the new season. According to the recent report on sundayworld.com, some of the Blues’ top new signing targets this summer are Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.
Chelsea target: Jules Kounde
The 23-year-old French centre-back Jules Kounde is not a new name on Chelsea’s target list. In fact, the Sevilla defender came very near to joining this London club last January. He was one of the defenders in the 23-member of 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season.
While Kounde is also reportedly very much interested to serve Chelsea, Sevilla have reportedly set the bidding price of £60million for the defender. The West London club is reportedly working to set up a strong bid for the French defender.
Chelsea target: Ousmane Dembele
Another French footballer Ousmane Dembele is reportedly ready to leave his present Spanish club Barcelona as their contract will be complete at the end of this month. The 25-year-old Barcelona right-winger finished the Spanish La Liga 2021/22 season as the leading assist provider with 13 assists.
As Tuchel was impressed to guide Dembele during their short spell for the German club Borussia Dortmund, there is a strong possibility of the French winger’s entry to the club this summer.
Chelsea target: Lautaro Martinez
However, according to sundayworld.com, Chelsea are also keen to sign the 24-year-old Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez. The Inter striker finished the last two Serie A seasons as one of the top ten most goal-scorers of the seasons, including finishing as the third most goal-scorer in the last Serie A season with 21 goals.
But the English club has already faced a blow for Lautaro Martinez as the Argentine has just clarified his zero intention to leave Inter ahead of the next season. In this case, Chelsea have to put a stronger bid for the Argentine in the hope of changing his recent mind, just as the English club did for Romelu Lukaku last season, who was also not interested in leaving Inter before the 2021 summer.
