    CONFIRMED: Champions League draw pot next season – Liverpool could face Real Madrid again

    Ajax is confirmed to be in the latest team of eight top-seeded teams in the Champions League next year. 

    The top pot is usually reserved for the winners of the top 6 leagues in Europe, as well as the winners of the European and Champions League. However, Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final means they have passed two qualifying rounds after winning La Liga earlier this season.

    Ajax Confirmed to be Included in the Pot of Champions League draw

    Ajax has secured the final spot in Pot one, it is all thanks to a victory in Eredivisie, which is considered the seventh-best league in Europe. 

    This means that the top pot consists of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, PSG, Porto, Ajax, and Eintracht Frankfurt.

    Frankfurt has the lowest domestic results for the top seeds, finishing 11th out of 18th in the Bundesliga, but qualifying for the Europa League victory. 

    The remaining three pots are determined based on a five-year coefficient club ranking.

    Eight groups will be drawn in one team from each pot in each group. Only one team from each country is allowed in the group. 

    The Pot two has confirmed upon Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, ​​Juventus, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Sevilla, and Tottenham. 

    The lack of seed means that Liverpool may face Liverpool in the group stage.

    The next pot could form some challenging groups, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Napoli all join the group in the top two teams. 

    Sporting Lisbon, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Salzburg, and Shakhtar Donetsk make up the remaining pot three. Benfica can participate if the Portuguese pass the qualifying round, otherwise it will be in pot four.

    It has been declared, that Celtic and Club Brugge will be in pot four with six teams from the qualifying round. 

    The Group Stage Lottery will take place on August 25th.
