Young Kylian Mbappe can now take key decisions for PSG: Is it the right move ahead for football?

In the last few days, the 23-year-old French forward Kylian Mbappe was in the centre of the news in the football world. Recently, the French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won the battle against the Spanish giants Real Madrid by successfully keeping the young player in the team room with lucrative deals.

The FIFA World Cup 2018-winner Kylian Mbappe, who also won the Best Young Player of the Tournament award in that last WC, is one of the incredible talents in the present football world. While he is officially serving for the PSG since the 2018 summer (in the 2017/18 season, he also played for this team on loan), many clubs are trying their best to snatch him as soon as possible. Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid were also targeting this talent for a very long time.

While the Parisians were desperate to keep Mbappe in the team, the youngster was also the prime target for the Whites in this new summer transfer window. The French youngster always kept open both options.

As the last contract would end in June 2022, PSG had no other choice than to put the ultra-lucrative deal for Mbappe to keep him on the side. Meanwhile, Real Madrid were reportedly very confident about finally signing the French talent this summer transfer window. No doubt, the Whites also put a very impressive deal for him.

However, Mbappe has ultimately decided to stay in PSG by signing a new contract with the club that will extend its journey till June 2025. Apart from being the highest-paid player in the world, one of the major reasons for Mbappe’s stay in the club is reportedly his complete control of PSG’s sporting project.

The complete control of PSG’s sporting project simply means that Kylian Mbappe can take key decisions for the team, including the inclusion and exclusion of the managers and coaches. So, Mbappe will now have the major responsibility for the team’s performances. While it can be good news for him during the team’s success, it can also similarly backfire on him in its failure.

No doubt that Kylian Mbappe is a superstar of France as well as Paris Saint-Germain, but many are questioning his new power in the team.

Many believe that it is not the right decision for the game to give superior control of a team to a 23-year-old footballer. While it can suddenly destroy this incredibly talented player’s growth, it can also affect in team’s future.

It is still too early to give any proper answer on it. We have to patiently wait some time to get any quality answer to this incident.

    Future of transfers

PSG may have opened a new window to bring an ultra-lucrative deal for the super talented players. If most of the things go right in the upcoming seasons, we may experience similar approaches in some more clubs. However, this kind of deal is likely only for the super talented players, so we can only experience it still very rare, and that too in the highly strong financial clubs.
