Real Madrid sign huge deal for the currently redeveloping Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

The Spanish club giants Real Madrid have recently signed a massive deal with Sixth Street and Legends for the operation of the currently redeveloping Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The renovation of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the home venue of the Real Madrid CF, actually started in 2019. In June 2020, Los Blancos shifted their home venue to Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium due to that renovation process.

Despite the work-in-progress, the Real Madrid football team returned to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium at the beginning of the La Liga 2021/22 season. While the renovation will expectedly complete in late 2022, they are continuing this venue as their home ground.

However, before the renovation work gets complete, the club has already signed a massive deal with Sixth Street and Legends for the operation of this renovated stadium. Sixth Street is an investment firm with extensive experience in sports and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Legends is a premium experiences company for sports and live venue organizations. Interestingly, since early 2021, Sixth Street has acquired a majority stake in Legends Hospitality.

Real Madrid are set to earn approximate €360million due to this deal

Talking about the major purpose of the new deal between Real Madrid, Sixth Street and Legends is to set it up as a unique venue along with a worldwide benchmark for leisure and entertainment.

Last Thursday (19th May), Real Madrid confirmed that they have agreed on this long-term partnership for almost €360million. The Whites also confirmed that the Sixth Street will have “the right to participate in the operation of certain new businesses of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium for twenty years.”

That club statement added, “Legends will contribute its experience and knowledge in the operation of large stadiums and leisure centers, allowing for the optimization of the management of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”

Just like their partners, Real Madrid are also very excited to create new history during this long-term partnership by providing unique experiences in this stadium.
