IPL 2022: RCB secures an easy victory over Gujarat by 8 wickets

RCB secures a vital win against Gujarat Titans by defeating them by 8 wickets and securing 2 crucial points in the IPL points table. Fans saw Virat Kohli getting his form back, as he played a brilliant knock, and was supported by his fellow teammates. GT batted first and put up 168 for the loss of 5 wickets on the scoreboard. Bangalore while coming to bat, chased down the total in 18.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets.

    Virat Kohli’s Impressive knock

After a long time, Virat Kohli scored a half-century overall scoring 73 off 54 deliveries with 8 fours and 2 sixes, with a strike rate of 135.19. Also, his opening partnership with skipper Faf du Plessis was important in chasing down the total with ease. Du Plessis also played a good inning of 44 of 38 balls with 5 fours.

    Glenn Maxwell’s speedy innings

Glenn Maxwell coming to bat at number 3 in the match, played a speedy inning of 40 of 18 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes, with a strike rate of 222.22 to take RCB past the victory line with ease. He was there with Kohli for some time, and after he got out, Maxwell handled the business perfectly and played his part well.

GT bowlers not successfully picking up wickets

In the match, Gujarat Titans bowlers were neither successful in picking up wickets nor were they good at stopping many runs. Only Sai Kishore bowled exceptionally well, conceding only 20 runs in 4 overs, and Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets of two RCB openers. Except for these two, all the GT bowlers either went for runs, or weren’t successful in picking up wickets, which turned out to be the major factor in GT losing the match, and RCB emerging victoriously by 8 wickets.
