There’s a word of Star Trek: Picard’s renewal for a new season. Paramount’s upcoming project seems to include this sci-fi, drama series starring none other than the phenomenal actor Patrick Stewart.
Picard was taken up by Paramount for the renewal of the third season in September 2021 before the start of the current season. However, according to Streamer, Star Trek’s Third Season: Next Generation Spin will be the last.
The filming for Picard Season 3 started way back in 2022 when the production hit the news where more than four dozen cast and crew members tested positive for COVID.

On April 5th of this year, Paramount released a trailer unveiling six new next-generation cast members for Season 3. This includes actors and some newcomers who previously appeared in the first two seasons. The list included:
- LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge
- Michael Dorn as Worf
- Jonathan Frakes as William Riker
- Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher
- Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi
- Brent Spiner, possibly as data? although we are quite unsure about that for now
When Can We Expect Picard 3 To Release?
Star Trek: Picard Season 3 is likely to be released in 2023.
Although there hasn’t been any announcement of the release date for Picard Season 3, the production and filming of the second and the third seasons began way back in 2020. Star Trek: Picard Season 2 premiered in March 2022, two years after the end of the first season. It’s still on the air. It is not unlikely for Season 3 to release in early 2023, with Jonathan Frakes and Terry Matalas overseeing this final season.
