English pacer Tymal Mills has been ruled out for the rest of IPL 2022 due to an injury. Mumbai Indians have signed South African pacer Tristan Stubbs as a replacement to him.
Tymal Mills had played five matches for Mumbai this season and scalped six wickets at an economy of 11.17. He last played on April 16 against Lucknow Super Giants, where he conceded 54 runs from three wicketless overs. Though the injury is a minor one, still he is expected to be fit for Sussex’s first T20 Blast game on May 26. That’s the main reason for him to rule out.
Mumbai Indians updated the news by stating “The 21-year-old, talented middle-order batter, recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe. Tristan has had a very promising domestic season and played an important role for his team in the recently concluded T20 domestic league. Tristan will join the MI squad for the rest of the season.”
Tristan Stubbs of 21years is a wicket-keeper who has played 17 T20s and scored 506 runs, mustering three half-centuries at a strike rate of 157.14. He is a middle-order batter who recently debuted for the South African A team against Zimbabwe. The youngster also had a very domestic season and played an important role for his team in the recently concluded T20 domestic league.
He is ready to join the MI squad for the rest of the season. Mumbai had a pathetic start in the 15th edition having won just one out of their nine matches. They can just hope to have a better season end as they will try to win the remaining five games of the season to go.
Mumbai Indians are ready to battle against the most consistent team of IPL 2022, which is the Gujarat Titans.
