Bournemouth and Wales star David Brooks finally wins his fight against cancer – excited to be back on the field

    In October 2021, David Brooks was diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin Lymphoma. Since then, the 24-year-old star footballer has been constantly struggling to fight against cancer. After about 6 months of treatment, he declared on his social media that he is finally ‘cancer-free’. He wholeheartedly thanked the medical staff who helped him recover and the fans who prayed for his speedy recovery.

    What’s lying next for David Brooks in his career?

    After making his debut in 2017, he appeared 21 times for Wales and last played for Bournemouth in September before revealing this shocking news of cancer. Having played 89 times for the Cherries after moving to the south coast from Sheffield United in the summer of 2018, David Brooks was doing well in his football career so far.

    But the diagnosis of stage II cancer made everything uncertain for him. But thankfully, he has conquered the disease and is ‘excited’ to be back on the field, as stated by him. He is determined to continue his football career and start the journey back to full fitness. ‘The lads at Bournemouth had an excellent season so far and I am looking forward to being back at the vitality to cheer the team on, as we head into the most important fixtures of the season, he added.

    David Brooks also stated that he was determined to work hardest over the months ahead and play in front of his fans in the not-so-distant future. He expressed his gratitude for all the messages and good wishes of the fans, saying it really helped him get through the tough times. Let’s just pray for his good health and hopefully, the star player will be back on the pitch soon.
