IPL 2022: GT defeats RCB by 6 wickets! Tewatia-Miller pair leads Gujarat to Victory!

Gujarat Titans defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets with 3 balls left, at Brabourne Stadium. The credit again goes to Rahul Tewatia and David Miller, this time for pairing up and leading their team past the victory margin. RCB batted first and put up 170 for the loss of 6 wickets on the scoreboard. Gujarat coming to bat in the second innings, chased down the target in 19.3 overs, losing 4 wickets only. Here are 3 factors to consider from the match which led Gujarat to victory.

All the GT bowlers picked up wickets

Though RCB batters scored runs and put up a good total on the scoreboard, the GT bowlers also picked up wickets when necessary. All the five bowlers of 5 bowlers of GT picked up wickets, else the way the RCB batters were batting, the score would have been more or above 200.

    Gujarat batters getting runs

Though skipper Hardik Pandya didn’t get many runs, except him, all the GT batters who batted scored runs, and gradually helped their team to chase down 170, within 3 balls left. GT got a good start in the hands of Wriddhiman Saha and Subhman Gill, then Sai Sudarshan played a little bit, and ultimately David Miller and Rahul Tewatia finished off in style with their respective innings.

    Miller and Tewatia pairing up

One of the most important factors that lead GT towards victory was the pairing up of David Miller and Rahul Tewatia. When they came, the equation wasn’t a cupcake for GT, however, they made it look easy. David Miller scored 39 of 24 with 4 fours and 1 six, and Rahul Tewatia scored 43 of 25 deliveries, with 5 fours and 2 sixes, taking Gujarat Titans home with the victory.
