Matt Reeves, The Batman sequel will return with the writer and director at the helm and Robert Pattinson as the protagonist. The announcement came from Toby Emmerich, the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group executive on Tuesday, confirming the great box office success of the new movie version of The Dark Knight.
The Batman Sequel: Which Characters Will be Back?
As of now, not every detail is clear about the Batman sequel. So far it’s known, that Reeves and Pattinson will return, but expectations are high that Colin Farrell’s Penguin, could be seen again. A spin-off of the character is in progress by HBO Max.
In the first movie of this classic old saga, Pattinson, portraying the role of a young Bruce Wayne, becomes conscious of the corruption in Gotham City and pursues the maniacal killer called the Riddler (Paul Dano), being collaborated in the cast by Andy Serkis as Batman’s butler Alfred Pennyworth, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Farell Penguin and Jeffrey Wright as Gotham City’s police chief James Gordon.
The Saga’s First Movie Became a Super Hit at the Box Office and HBO Max
So far, the film went on air on the big screen in March to $134 million domestically and has had a terrific gross of $760 million at the global box office. It was the highest-grossing film of the year.
Interestingly, in inclusion, the first week it was there on HBO Max, was viewed by 4.1 million households, which followed Warner Bros.’s return of exclusive film releases. The studio had a great launch of the entire 2021 slate simultaneously on HBO Max.
Fans would be super excited to know that Matt Reeve’s Batman will be back with a sequel, after the critically acclaimed first one. It will be interesting to note how the upcoming movie goes and who all join the cast!
