Sony bringing FIFA 22, Curse of the Dead Gods, and Tribes of Midgard to PlayStation Plus this May

In May, PlayStation Plus subscribers can play FIFA 22, Curse of the Dead Gods, and Tribes of Midgard. Beginning May 3, all three will be available for download from the PS Plus hub on the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment.

FIFA 22 is the PlayStation 4 version of the game, not the PS5 version, though backward compatibility allows it to be played on the PS5. The UEFA Champions League is presently in its semifinal phase, with the final scheduled for May 28, which is likely why PlayStation and EA chose this month to debut FIFA 22. The UEFA Champions League and Europa League competitions, as well as CONMEBOL’s Copa Libertadores (South America’s club football title), are all featured in the game. Players who opt to update to the newest console version will keep their progress in the Ultimate Team and Volta Football modes, but not their game saves (in career or other modes).

Curse of the Dead Gods is a roguelike, isometric dungeon crawler for PlayStation 4 that was released in February 2021 by Passtech Games and published by Focus Home Interactive. In it, players quest for wealth and powerful loot in dynamically created dungeons. In addition to a health meter, the game contains a “Curse Meter,” which builds up and inhibits the player if they use black magic.

Tribes of Midgard is an action RPG for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 that focuses on survival and cooperative gameplay. With missions including Yggdrasil (the Norse tree of life), the Jötnar (giants), and stopping Ragnarok, the game focuses heavily on Norse mythology. For its Survival Mode and season-based Saga Mode, cooperative play enables up to 10 players in online “tribes.”

Hood (PS4 and PS5), Slay the Spire (PS4), and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom — Rehydrated — are still available for download until May 2 for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
