Another day and another win for the Lucknow Supergiants against Mumbai Indians, and this time they have managed to come to the second position in the IPL points table. Credit goes to KL Rahul for his brilliant century, and also to the bowling unit of the team. LSG batted first and put a score of 199 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. MI was only able to get to 181 for the loss of 9 wickets, and they are yet to open their book in the present season of the Indian Premier League. Here are 3 facts to consider from the match.
The captain’s knock
KL Rahul, the LSG skipper registered the second century of the season scoring 103 out of 60 deliveries, with 9 fours and 5 sixes with a strike rate of 171.67. He came as an opener, batted all through the power-play, middle, and death overs to build his innings, and take his team to a big total of 199.
Good Bowling by LSG bowlers
Though LSG bowlers went for runs, and Mumbai Indians were able to register 181 on the scoreboard, they took wickets at frequent intervals, which is one of the prime reasons MI wasn’t able to chase down the target. All the bowlers except Krunal Pandya picked up wickets, with Avesh Khan picking up 3 of them.
Getting Dewald Brevis out
Like his earlier match, Dewald Brevis known as Baby Ab started to fire on his opponent bowlers, and scored a stormy 31 of 13 deliveries with 6 fours and one six, with a strike rate of 238.46. If he was there for long, chasing down the score would be a cupcake work for the Indians. However, Avesh Khan got rid of Brevis, who got caught out in the hands of Deepak Hodda.
