UCL Semi-Finals: Liverpool vs Villarreal, Manchester City vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid and Villarreal made it to the UCL Semi-Finals on Tuesday with their final four opponents as Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, on the evening that followed. Let’s take a look at the four teams individually, and analyze why each of them has the chance to win it.

    UCL Semi-Finals: Individual Team Analysis

    Manchester City

The spectacular passing and magnificent pressing define the key strength of this team. Their key player, Kevin De Bruyne has already had 250 appearances for the club and remains a crucial figure in the midfield. He has made it a regular habit of scoring in important games and no one would forget his winning strike in the quarter-finals! Man City’s hunger for their maiden UCL title will keep them double motivated.

    Real Madrid

No one would have forgotten how they turned the tie from Paris around, beating all odds and surviving a magnanimous onslaught from Chelsea. With Karim Benzema in his prime, dazzling support from Vinicius Junior, and an outstanding Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, the 13-time UCL champions would be hungry to grab their 14th! Fans were in real worry after Ronaldo’s departure regarding how and when the goals would come from.

However, Benzema had stepped forward to be the club’s charm. He was phenomenal to turn the tie against Paris with a second-half hattrick and a massive blow in the extra time to make it four goals in the tie.

They have faced tough competition: and even of their opponents so far, only Atletico have failed to never win the competition. This takes it to another level of impression, that they display almost a perfect record: just one loss in ten games against Inter in the second leg. When they are at their prime, anything hardly makes away! Ever since his arrival in 2017, Egypt forward Mohamed Salah has been the face of Liverpool. After bragging 33 UCL goals from the club, he would be more excited to deliver top-notch performance in the fab four.

Not many would have thought to consider them, but they have shown what they are capable of! After knocking down Juventus and Bayern, they would be far more desperate to win in their second-ever UCL semi-final. Eyes will be on Arnaut Danjuma who has been impressive with his sheer brilliance with pace and directness.
