Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairman Ramiz Raja is very hopeful to have a discussion with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting from April 7 to 10 in Dubai. The discussion will be regarding the “bilateral series between India and Pakistan”
In recent times, India and Pakistan didn’t have a very good political relationship and in the past few years, there hasn’t been any bilateral series happening between India and Pakistan.
India-Pakistan bilateral series is all set to resume?
The chairman of PCB Ramiz Raja is fully determined to get things in the right place and also unravelled a four-nation annual T20 series that involves countries like India, Pakistan, Australia and England. The revenue earned through the league will be huge keeping in mind that all four teams have a wide fan base around the globe.
Most importantly, fans can witness India-Pakistan games that have been happening only in the ICC tournaments. Last time, India played against Pakistan in the group stages of the T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan got its first-ever victory against India in the World Cup. The game was watched by the entire world and it also broke the viewership record. India-Pakistan match is always a highly anticipated and intense one for which Raja is eager to bring back the bilateral series between the two countries.
As per sources, Ramiz Raja will be briefing to the ICC about the successful visit of Australia to Pakistan for three Tests, three ODIs and the one-off T20I.
In recent years, many nations have avoided touring Pakistan in the last decade after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in the year 2009. Since then, the security has increased three-fold and now several countries are thinking of playing in Pakistan.
