As the 15th season of the Indian Premier League is moving forward, fans are getting the chance to witness some mouth-watering matches, let they be high scoring or low. A similar happened at the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday, as RCB secured a win against KKR gaining 2 points, after a low-scoring thriller. KKR gave a target of 128 to their rivals, and RCB chased down their total in 19.2 overs. Here are three points that can be jotted down leading Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the match.
Brilliant Bowling by Hasaranga
The earlier match which was played on this ground by RCB and PBKS saw 27 sixes the match. However, from that batting pitch in this match, everyone saw a full bowling one where bowlers showed their real colors. Both KKR and RCB did well in their bowling attack, and a special mention goes to Wanindu Hasaranga who conceded 20 runs in 4 overs picking up 4 wickets.
Crucial Partnership by David Willey and Sherfane Rutherford
KKR were furious in the power play as they soon got rid of the top order picking up Anuj Rawat, Faf du Plessis, and Virat Kohli respectively. KKR also had tight bowling in the middle overs and didn’t permit David Willey and Sherfane Rutherford to hit the ball out of the park easily. However, despite playing more balls than their runs, they made a crucial partnership, which paved their path toward victory. After them, Shahbaz Ahmed played was able to play a speedy inning freely, which was 27 of 20 balls having 3 sixes.
Unfitness of Andre Russell
Though it is not sure whether Andre Russell was unfit or not, during the middle overs, Russell was back at the dugout, and Rinku Singh replaced him on the field. Before that, he didn’t bowl well and made the required run rate look easy for RCB. Also, Russell came back to bowl the last over, when he had to defend 7 runs, but Dinesh Karthik finished the game with a 6 and a 4 in the first two balls respectively.
