With Liverpool’s victory over Arsenal with a score of 2-0, Jurgen Klopp’s men are coming closer to the Premier League table-toppers Manchester City, keeping them under pressure. Liverpool took advantage of City’s goalless draw on Monday against Crystal Palace, and it seems like the table might turn around on Liverpool’s side soon.
Liverpool nearly covers the distance from Man City
Liverpool had a 14 points distance from Manchester City on January 15, 2022, and they have hunted down the champions in a terrific race at the points table. With an impressive hunt over City, the Reds are looking forward to winning a second title in three seasons. If they are able to secure a win against Watford on April 2nd, i.e., in their league game, they will have their stage set for a terrific showdown on April 10, against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
Jurgen Klopp in this regard
Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp said in this regard that they certainly had a good period. It is exactly what they need. They’re one point behind, however, it is still the same, and they have to win football matches. It is better to be one point behind the 14 points which Man City has. But in 10 years, does anybody think that someone will tell them finishing second is indeed proud? Probably not, he added.
Klopp also said that they know that they have a special group there and they’re trying their level best to squeeze everything they can to get out of the situation. Klopp threw down the gauntlet to the Premier League table-toppers Manchester City this week and reports state that he wants his boys to be the most annoying in this title race. It is to be seen what happens if the epic clash between the two teams takes place, on April 10.
