    IOC 2023: India is all set to host the IOC session in Mumbai for the first time since 1983

     India is ready to host IOC 2023. India on Saturday won the right to host the 2023 International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) session in Mumbai during the 139th IOC Session in Beijing, China. The last time India hosted an IOC session was in 1983.

    The Indian delegation comprises the country’s first individual Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, IOC Member Nita Ambani, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra, and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur. They made the IOC members during the 139th IOC Session. The winter Olympics was being held in Beijing. This is the second IOC session in India.

    The last time, India hosted the IOC session was in 1983, New Delhi.

    IOC 2023: India is all set to host the IOC session in Mumbai for the first time since 1983

    The IOC session holds a general meeting with the IOC members. IOC’s decisions are final. The ordinary sessions are held once every year and the Extraordinary sessions is generally convened by the president or the written request of one-third of the Members.

    Nita Ambani in his statement said “The Olympic movement comes back to India after 40 years, as we have the honour of hosting the IOC session in Mumbai in 2023. I am excited for the youth of India to experience the magic of the Olympics. It is our dream to host the Olympic Games in India in the years to come,”
