The merchandise of Mason Greenwood has been removed from the official website of Manchester United after the English footballer was arrested on suspicion of assault and rape on Sunday. All these happened following his girlfriend’s action, Harriet Robson, when she posted about the same on social media. Also, Nike expressed their concern over the allegations over Mason Greenwood, and they have suspended the lucrative sponsorship deal of Greenwood.
Nike in a Statement
Nike said in a statement that they have suspended the relationship with the Englishman Mason Greenwood. They are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and at present will continue to closely monitor this particular situation.
Sources also state that the team viewer of the Man United shirt sponsors have indicated that they are closely monitoring the developments with another of the partners of the club in Cadbury, and are refusing Greenwood to get featured on their products.
The footballer who remains under police custody, and whose investigation is pending, has been receiving numerous criticisms from various frustrated fans who have primarily asked the Red Devils’ Club to return their money paid for Greenwood’s shirts.
