AMD Ryzen 5 6600H leaked bechmarks shows handsome improvements over last-gen

AMD has already launched its new Zen 3+ based Rembrandt APUs at CES 2022 and that includes new Ryzen 6000H mobile gaming processors. We know, AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600H with 6 Zen 3 cores was one of the most popular options last year in gaming laptops and its viable successor this year will be the new AMD Ryzen 5 6600H.

There’s is more architectural improvements year-over-year seen on the Ryzen 5 6600H and the first Geekbench leak of the APU has been spotted on Twitter by Benchleaks. Here we see this APU rocking a clock speed of 4,527 MHz and that’s expected because it has a boost clock speed up to 4.5GHz.

However, the Lenovo laptop tested here with the Ryzen 5 6600H posts a Geekbench multi-core score of 9954 points and 1472 in single-core. This is an improvement of around 23% in multi-core while being 6% faster in single-core compared to the Ryzen 5 5600H, a decent improvement but could have been a bit better in single-core.

The scores are even comparable/better than the desktop Ryzen 5 5600X which is definitely promising and it will completely depend on the laptop which can take advantage of the APU’s performance. Compared to say the Acer Nitro 5 we review at TechnoSports, there the Ryzen 5 5600H scored 5578 points in multi-core and 1332 points in single-core and you can draw numbers how much improvement we are seeing with Ryzen 5 6600H.

You cannot compare or judge anything with only these scores regarding the raw performance of this AMD Ryzen 5 6600H as we have to wait for the gaming laptops to arrive in the market to draw any conclusion. With a newer socket, DDR5 RAM support and new RDNA2 graphics onboard this new Ryzen 6000 APUs looks promising as of now.

So, take these benchmarks with a pinch of salt as we have to wait for more benchmarks to draw any conclusion about the upcoming Ryzen mid-range APU.
