The actual script of the legendary Oscar-winning filmmaker Satyajit Ray Ghare Baire will be released soon, as reported from West Bengal Film Journalists’ Association’s (WBFJA) announcement. The original document could be accessed through Ray’s family’s help and the binding process for the same is soon to start. WBFJA general secretary Nirmal Dahr, has confirmed the same.

The original handwritten script was dated to be released at the WBFJA Awards on 16th January, to facilitate the great filmmaker’s birth centenary. However, concerning the sudden surge of Covid 19 cases, the same has been put on hold. Dhar stated, they will look for an appropriate occasion to release the treasure, preferably after the situation is back in control. He further said they are sincerely hoping for the same to happen in the centenary year itself.
Gharer Baire, made in 1985 by Ray, cast Soumitra Chatterjee, Victor Banerjee and Swatilekha Sengupta in lead roles. The film was based on the freedom movement and the boycott of foreign-created goods and the backdrops.
